That’s a wrap, folks! The 2011 Academy Awards are officially over. Hollywood Blvd. is open once again.
Good show. Great opening! No real big surprises.
Loved Colin Firth’s speech! Natalie Portman’s sentiments showed off her grace much moreso than those at the Globes. And Randy Newman was pretty funny… Who knew?
But really it’s the red carpet portion of the show we like best. There were definitely some standout stunners this year, but as a whole – few were gasp-worthy.
The City of Gloss Angeles 2011 Oscars Best Dressed winners …
Our #1 favorite: Mila Kunis in a romantic lavender Elie Saab.
#2 goes to Halle Berry in a stunning nude and crystal Marchesa.
#3 was Anne Hathaway in a sensational one-shouldered gold flapper-esque Oscar de la Renta. Nice work, Rachel Zoe!
Jewelry seemed a bit more understated than in past years. Although Nicole Kidman‘s gown wasn’t one of our faves, her Fred Leighton 150-carat 19th Century diamond Riviere choker that sparkled down her back was beyond breathtaking.
Honorable Mention goes to Marisa Tomei who went for 1950’s vintage glam in navy Charles James couture by Lily et Cie.

Agreed – Mila’s lavender number was a knockout. Helen Mirren (sp?? sorry. . ) always manages flawless, and I thought Gweneth (again, sp?) looked dynamite too. That guy who needed a haircut was funny too.
