Nope, not kidding. I’m told National Lipstick Day is July 29th. I’m not certain how one celebrates such a holiday, but I’m on board. Sure. Why not.
So today, in the spirit of all that is matte and shiny, here are five lipsticks I highly suggest trying out.
Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick
It goes on like a gloss and gives the full-coverage of a lipstick sheen. It’s got tons of pigment so I prefer it for evening. It doesn’t bleed or come off on your wine glass either. Fave shades: Dolce (nude cinnamon), Amore (deep plum)
For a more natural looking lip, try Stila’s Long wear lip color.
Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick is a newer formula that boasts anti-aging ingredients like Resveratrol to combat those lip lines we love so much. Twenty-one berry-to-bubble gum shades that will help us keep wrinkles at bay. Fave shade: Cava (lilac beige)
Any woman worth her gloss knows NARS. To know him is to love him. Today I’ll just suggest one of his lesser-mentioned lipstick hues: Mayflower. It’s a gorgeous sheer shimmering raspberry. Super pretty to brighten up the complexion.
Bare Escentuals BUXOM Big & Healthy Lip Tarnish
Bare Escentuals is one of the only natural makeup lines I’ve bought more than once. And it’s mostly because of their lip collections. The BUXOM Big & Healthy Lip Tarnish is a plumping and moisturizing lip stain. Goes on like a stick, looks like a sheen. Fave shades: Mug Shot (nude pink), Busted (cherry red)
SMASHBOX – Be Legendary Lipstick
Last is Smashbox’s Be Legendary Lipstick. It’s just good, reliable lipwear. Fave shade: Fig (a sexy reddish grape)
