Moitié: 10-Day lashes in Los Angeles

IMG_2811A new lash just arrived in Los Angeles. Sitting somewhere between fake eyelashes and lash extensions is Moitié. Pronounced moy-tee-ā, the brand was created by computer engineer Sima Mosbacher and offers DIY lashes that stay on up to 10 days. Lil’ bit of trivia: At age 20, Sima became the youngest female commercial pilot in the world!

A big fan of salon lashes, Sima loved the ease of being makeup-ready each morning. But ultimately, she would suffer the drawbacks of brittle natural lashes and breakage as a result. So she created a gentler option where the lashes adhere to your natural lashes vs. your lash line.

IMG_2792Go online and check out the different options for ordering a DIY kit. Or if you’re in Los Angeles, stop by her kiosks at The Grove (just outside Nordstrom) or The Americana. I recommend having the techs on-site apply them for you. But for those with a steadier hand than me, the kits are there and ready to take home and apply at leisure. Kits come adorably packed in pink with everything from application tongs to remover glue.

I went for the natural look, and liked them at night. But during the day they were still a bit extra for me. I lasted 3 days before having to remove them. That said, I cannot personally confirm that they last a full 10 days. If you don’t wash with an oil cleanser or makeup remover, I can see them going the distance though. NOTE: When using the lash remover, make sure to ONLY apply it to your lashes and not your lash line. #Lessonlearned

IMG_2719Oh, they’re also waterproof — A great summer savior for those who hate waterproof mascara! If you stop by a kiosk, drop me a line and let me know how it went. Even better, share a before & after!

  1. I am so excited to order the DIY kit! I have lash extensions and I can see the damage that they’re doing to my natural lashes. Thanks!
