Help for Procrasti-Claus

It’s come down to the wire…

Whether you’re going home for the holidays or just need a few hostess gifts to keep on-hand, here are a few unique ways to say, “I had you in mind when I bought this!”

One of my all-time favorite gifts…  A rockstar chic way to show appreciation for all things Naughty and Nice.  Naughty & Nice Candle Set by DL & Co. Maxfield, Los Angeles.

Everyone brings a bottle of red. You arrive bearing Rosso Nobile by Dr. Vranjes on New Year’s Eve. A gorgeous room diffuser filled with fabulous fragrant essences of fine wines.  Scent Bar, Los Angeles.

Order Sweet E’s minis for the Globes’ viewing party. For every fête prior, hand-deliver some crystal frosted treats on milk white glass. Cupcake Icon Candle by Primal Elements. Lemon Tree Bungalow, West Hollywood.

Need a few more beauty baubles for stocking stuffing?

The New ‘Putting Out’…

On Thursday, September 30th Variety hosted their annual Power of Women awards, where some of Hollywood’s most influential females were given top honors at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Yeah, we’re a little late in posting. Sorry, people!  A pretty impressive room, even by Hollywood’s standards, of 400ish A-listers and insiders filled the room to ‘inspire and encourage women from all walks of life to get involved, give back and make a difference.’

Among the gorgeous guests of honor were: Jennifer Garner, Eva Mendez, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Katie Holmes, and manager Susan Bymel.

L.A. Dad’s Day Gift Guide

Why is Dad always such a question mark when it comes to gift giving? Either he insists he doesn’t want a thing, already has everything or is just impossibly picky. This year, make it easy on both of you and go the practical route…

Golf at Ojai Valley Inn & Spa

Give Dad the gift of golf. Ojai Valley Inn & Spa is offering some specially-priced packages for Father’s Day this year. Get him a one-hour golf lesson with a PGA Golf Pro, a round of golf for two in 2010, or the Ojai Ultimate Father’s Day Package – including five rounds of golf, an hour lesson with a PGA pro, club fitting session and product-filled resort gift bag.

The gorgeous 18-hole course plays 6,292 yards with a par 70, rating of 71.0 and a slope of 132.

PERSONAL NOTE: This writer would rather watch paint dry than play a round of golf, but this course is so stunning that I’ve been tempted to pick up a club on more than one visit. (Of course, I resisted temptation and continued on my way to find bliss at the resort’s spa…but that’s not the point.)

Happy World Oceans Day, L.A.!

In tribute to their heritage and longtime relationship honoring the beauty and power of the sea, lavish skincare brand La Mer has partnered for the fifth time with Oceana – the world’s leading international ocean advocacy organization – to celebrate and support World Oceans Day 2010.

For the 2010 campaign, La Mer has created a limited-edition 100 ml World Oceans Day “blue” Crème de la Mer jar and will make a $200,000 donation to Oceana’s habitat protection efforts.

Marking the first time La Mer has altered their signature Crème de la Mer jar, “going blue” symbolizes the brand’s continued commitment to the oceans. Over the past five years, La Mer has donated more than half a million dollars globally toward Oceana’s sea expeditions, studies and preservation efforts.  Continue reading “Happy World Oceans Day, L.A.!”
